Handwritten challan books
A carbon book in the vehicle, filled in by hand, with numbers that skip and copies that go missing.
Nothing to show for a delivery
A customer says the goods never came, and there is no signed paper to show.
Typed twice
The order is in the computer, and the challan is written out again by hand.
What delivery challans do
What works today, what is coming soon, and the plans that include each.
From the order, in one tap

Delivery challans, step by step
- 1
Confirm the order
From the link, the salesman or your office.
- 2
Make the challan
One tap, with the vehicle number if you like.
- 3
Print it
It goes with the goods; the receiver signs it.
- 4
Invoice as usual
The invoice adds to the customer’s dues — the challan never does.
The challan carries the goods; the invoice carries the money
A delivery challan never enters the khata or your GST sales. The invoice made from the same order does, once — so goods sent ahead of the bill are never counted twice.
- No khata entry from a challan
- One live challan per order
- Same prices and tax as the invoice

Questions about delivery challans
When is a delivery challan used instead of an invoice?
When goods move without being sold at that moment — sent for job work or on approval, or moved between your own godowns. Rule 55 of the CGST Rules lists the cases; your CA can tell you which apply to you. Many distributors also send a challan with the invoice, as a delivery note the receiver signs.
What does a delivery challan show?
Your name, address and GSTIN, the customer’s, a challan number and date, each item with its quantity, value and tax, the place of supply, the vehicle number, and a box for the receiver’s signature.
Is a delivery challan the same as an invoice?
No. It goes with the goods; the invoice is the bill for them. In Billzova Trade a challan never adds to what the customer owes — only the invoice does.
Can I make a challan without an order?
A challan is made from an order, so it always matches what was ordered and what the invoice will show.
Does it make an e-way bill?
Not yet. E-way bills are planned for the Pro plan.
Is there a blank format I can print?
Yes — a free delivery challan format to download in Excel or print, under Free formats at the foot of every page. Billzova Trade fills it in for you from each order.
